This has been a long time coming for me! It is so time now. As a wonderful teacher of mine said to me  "It's right on time" Exactly as its meant be. I guess it's taken me some time to know what makes me happy and whole. :) Writing does, making stuff does, being in connection with friends, family and people in my community does. As I open my eyes and heart more I see the beauty all around just waiting for me to explore it all. When I 'play' with all that's being offered to me it opens up more doors onto endless possibilities.

Playing - remember really playing? Like when you were a kid? Recently I've been exploring getting my feet muddy in my back yard looking up at the sky. That reminds me of those times. Sandy toes running down dunes. Tumbling down because your legs can't quite keep up. Falling down used to be fun! As long as your knees weren't skinned you just got back up and started running all over again. Yah, playing like that! I was asked the question by a very wise woman "What is my hearts deepest desire?" It took a minute and then 'play' came. I tried to explain to her what it meant to me and I felt slightly foolish. Other women were giving much more profound answers to this deep question. As I sat with it though I remembered how sacred playing really is. I know from my wonderful parenting teacher Win Harwood https://www.facebook.com/WinHarwoodParentingPage?ref=ts&fref=ts that play is children's work. It's how they learn, access creativity, and explore their world. I also recalled the amazing journey I took with 'The Artist Way' books by Julia Cameron. What I learned is that playing is an integral part of the creative process that every artist needs. In playing there are no boundaries, no mistakes. Only exploration and allowing the process to unfold with no judgements. A journey through the imagination, the magical self and beyond. Here's a link to her work, she says it so much better than me. The quotes on creativity come from the most inspired voices on every page of the book. If you're ready for it, the book is an amazing 12 week journey to your most profound creativity. It opened me up to so many deep desires and inspired countless dreams that I haven't fully explored. http://juliacameronlive.com/

So my hearts deepest desire has manifested into some crazy dancing to this fabulous video in my pyjamas yesterday. It made me so joyful just to watch this beautiful tribute to dance which has been a love of mine since childhood. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=ab9i0s4WEY0&feature=related
So I danced, jumped up and down with my fist in the air. Really, I did. Glad I didn't break an ankle. What I did break was through my critical mind that limits me all the time. That tells me to sit and be quiet and be nice. Time for me to burn through that one. So all you girls and guys? Get up and dance to this or play in the grass, dreaming of cloud people and midnight moons. Just try it. Take a breath of fresh air, sip from cool winds. Maybe make something beautiful. A painting, or a meal for your loved ones. Just play. I know I'm going to every day. I really hope you do too!

Love and light to you,

Melissa xo
